Design and construction/reconstruction of compact WWTP
Usually, town WWTP for plants < 60 000 PE (population equivalent ) or < 10 000 m3/d flow is designed without primary clarifiers. In some case, when suspended solid (SS) concentration in wastewater <300 mg/l for plants up to 20 000 m3/d primary clarifiers are also not necessary. For plants of this size we propose compact WWTP solution.
Word “compact” does not mean some type of biologic wastewater treatment technology, but it means, that major WWTP chains are blocked together:
- For plants 5 000 < 10 000 m3/d we propose to design blocked biological reactor with secondary clarifier. This solution enables to save construction place up to 2 times, comparing with separate displacement. Also it aloud to avoid to install additional pumping stations and chambers, required to internal recirculation or other needs, pumps are installed directly inside of bioreactor.
- For plants 1 000 < 5 000 m3/d in addition blocked biological reactor with secondary clarifier, we propose to design integrated complex mechanical treatment units instead of separate screens and grit chambers. This solution enables to save construction place for pretreatment up to 3 times and makes operation of pretreatment equipment much more simple and robust.
- For plants 1 000 < 5 000 m3/d sludge treatment we propose to use combined access sludge thickening and dewatering unit. This solution enables reduce size of sludge treatment building, reduce operation costs for electricity, wash water and polymers, and makes operation of sludge treatment equipment much more simple and robust.
