Design and construction/reconstruction of underground water wells pumping stations

Lithuania is one of the few countries in Europe, where more than 95% of drinking water is produced from underground water sources. Usually clean raw underground water, which has not been contacted with surface water lies on 35 m deep and below. To extract this water it is necessary to install underground water pump inside water well and water lifting pipeline. The well pumping equipment shall be very reliable, because in case of failure, the pump must be lifted from the well together with all lifting pipeline. This procedure is expensive, having in mind, that municipal underground water intake wells are usually 70-120 meters deep. Special attention should be payed to hydraulic hammer prevention. It can be very dangerous in well pipeline, especially during electricity supply failure: when suddenly pump stops, all water flow starts to flow down inside water lifting column, making vacuum inside pipeline, but there is back valve next to pump, so the flow strikes back and make overpressure inside pipelines. In all our installations, we use overpressure-vacuum release safety valves. Also for this reason we install VFD to ensure energy efficiency and good regulation possibility. Our company use special PS control programing algorithm in all our underground well PS. For monitoring of water level inside the well and to protect the pump, we install hydrostatic level sensors in each well.

We have extensive experience of design and construction/reconstruction of various size and depth underground water well PS, up to 130 m deep and 250 m³/h liquid flow/per well.
